Boot Camp Challenge!
Feb 28, 2012
Congratulations to Gauntlet Health & Safety Consultant Beth Kilner who successfully completed the Boot Camp Challenge this weekend...
The Boot Camp Challenge was an event to raise money for Eve Williams. Eve was born with Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy, this affects both her arms and legs. Eve, who is only 7, is unable to walk or even play with her baby sister Scarlett.
Fortunately, Eve has recently been selected for "Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy" by the world renowned Dr TS Park at the St Louis Children's Hospital in Missouri, USA. SDR is a complex procedure but will give Eve a real shot at increased mobility and a fully independent life, both of which are just a distant dream today. To make this happen Eve’s family need to raise a minimum of £45,000.
In an attempt to help, Beth signed up to take part in a gruelling 2 hour boot camp at the David Lloyd Centre in Leeds. The session was a continuous 2 hours and pushed even the fittest to their limit! The total amount raised for the event was over £25,000, which is a fantastic achievement and means the family now have enough money to send Eve to America.
